Business Analyst role in investment banks?

Hi all,

I am confused with the job titles given in job descriptions. Would a Business analyst ( credit risk) profile offered by Investment banks involve analytics?

I know it would be subjective to banks but does it generally involve analytics / analytic techniques or is plain IT systems BA?

Thanks in advance.

As you said it rightly, it would vary from bank to bank and team to team. For example, Goldman Sachs has more evolved analytics team than some of the other Investment banks.

However, typically business analyst designation in investment banking has referred to the analyst creating pitches for clients or for the systems analyst. For the first title, there is some analytics involved, but most of it is excel modeling, basic correlation and regressions.

Job description is the best way to find out about the role.
