Career Tips - Python or R?

I am in a nascent phase of my career. My decision now taken would decide my future.
Thing is, I already know Python but I see that there is a lot of demand of R in industry. Should I start learning R or I should take a job in python? What is more beneficial for me?

If you are in nascent phase of your career, understanding of concepts would matter more than the tool actually. I would suggest that you should focus on learning basics of statistics and predictive modeling.

You can use Python as a tool to do this. You would still need to learn use of analytics related libraries - NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, statsmodels are must know libraries.

You can refer to this discussion:

You can always convince your employer that you know all the concepts and can use one widespread open source tool. You can always learn R in matter of days.
