How to convert the comma separated data in .csv file to column separated file in R

I am currently working on data whose data is comma separated in a .csv file but I am not able to perform any task on it

The default separation in read.csv is ‘,’ here the separation is ';'
The issue can be resolved using the following command:
read.csv(“winequality-red.csv”, header = TRUE, sep = “;”)
