How to do proxy settings in RStudio in Ubuntu 14.04?

rstudio

Hello,

I am not able to install any R packages in my RStudio. The problem is most probably due to the internet connection through HTTP proxy.
I am getting this error.

Warning in install.packages :
unable to access index for repository https://cran.rstudio.com/src/contrib
Installing package into ‘/home/aditya/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/3.2’
(as ‘lib’ is unspecified)
Warning in install.packages :
unable to access index for repository https://cran.rstudio.com/src/contrib
Warning in install.packages :
package ‘rpart.plot’ is not available (for R version 3.2.2)

How to deal with this issue, how to set up the proxy connection in RStudio?

Thanks

Have you tried updating packages directly from (base) R?

From my office network, I don’t have problems upading packages from RStudio, but when I try to update R (from base R), I run into a wall. To get around that, I use setInternet2(TRUE).

In you case, however, it appears that there is also a collision of versions. FWIW, I’m using rpart.plot v1.5.2 with R 3.2.2.
