Most common Qlikview Interview Question

Hi All,

I have 2 years of work experience in Qlikview and am going for Qlikview interview next week. Please help me with most common technical questions related with Qlikview. Do they ask questions related to data modeling or front end design (functions, objects, expressions). I have already prepared for Schema, Set analysis, AGGR, types of join, synthetic keys.

Hi Satish,

Though I don’t have much experience with Qlikview, but the most common questions would be how you break links between table with common names. :smile:

I am listing important topics from different areas of Qlikview implementation.

Data Loading and Model:

  1. Data loading from different sources (excel, csv, txt, QVD, Qlikview, ODBC and other databases)
  2. How can we optimize the loading process (Incremental load, Partial load, Binary Load, Preceding Load)
  3. Joining tables ( Join, Concatenate, Residents Tables)
  4. Types of Schema (Star & Snow flake)
  5. Synthetics Keys and How to remove these (Circular reference)
  6. Join & Keep statements
  7. Table viewer
  8. Qlikview Architecture
  9. Data Transformation (Cross Table)

  1. Most Common objects (Charts, Container, List/ Multibox, Text Box)
  2. Hide / Unhide Objects (Conditionally)
  3. Formatting/ presentation Options available with objects
  4. Create dimensions drill down or cyclic
  5. Uses of buttons
  6. Which chart should we use for data presentation

  1. Set Analysis
  2. AGGR()
  3. Using variable in expression (Dollar expansion)
  4. Highlight top/ bottom values
  5. Applymap(), peek(), exist() function
  6. Other functions related to condition, datetime, statistical, mathematical, string and more

  1. What is alternate state?
  2. What is section access and how it helps to secure the data?
  3. Hidden script
  4. Conditional enable of disable dimensions and expression
  5. How can you access calendar parameters
  6. Types of CALs available

Hope this helps you to structure your preparation for Interview.
