First make sure you want to install R for your user (i.e. “vijay”) or for root user.

After deciding this,

you can follow the steps as mentioned here

  • Press Ctrl+Alt+T to open Terminal
  • Then execute sudo apt-get update
  • After that, sudo apt-get install r-base

when i try this command sudo apt-get install r-base same error coming
