Useful ness of factor in data set in R

I am currently working on iris data in R the Species has factor value I want to know that it is useful if I convert the level as a integer for classification

Hi @sid100158,

Classification is generally done on categorical variables and hence converting them into integers won’t be helpful as a species can be “setosa” or “versicolor” but not 1 or 2.
