Using the Normal Curve for Calculations



I’m currently enrolled in Data Science training. As part of “Statistics for Datascience”, looking for small clarification in terms of “One Standard Deviation around the mean” and “Two Standard Deviation around the mean”.

For a sample mean=150, SD=15 in the training video, how has he got the percentage as 68% and 95% area.

Looking for that help.

Have a look at the image shown below:

We can interpret that around 68% of the data is within 1 standard deviation to the mean, 95% of the data is within 2 standard deviation to the mean. These are the standard values.
