What are Categorical Variables?

I wanted to know the basic definition of a categorical variable

@ayushgg92 -

Continous variable - It contains numeric values of many levels.

Categorical variable - It contains fixed number of categories.

There is two different type of categorical variable
1- Nominal - It is without any implied order.
2- Ordinal - It has a natural ordering.

Hope this helps!
